PROBLEM    Hot Tamales is a fierce and flavorful candy that was introduced to the world in 1950. These red, pill-shaped chews are known for their spicy flavor and cinnamon taste, but over time they were shoved under the rug as people started to forget about their existence.
SOLUTION     In an effort to bring these cinnamon flavored chews back into the spotlight, we came up with a fresh new look that caught the eyes of the younger generation. Not only did we spark their interests in the brand, but we encouraged people to stand out. We also teamed up with Fireball, a red hot cinnamon whiskey, to host the boldest event of the summer, SPICE. With live music and social media influencers, Hot Tamales is back on top as the number one candy that nobody will ever forget again.
Candy Branding
We created a whole new look to the Hot Tamales candy box, using our hand-drawn logotype, icon, and designs.
Creation of the Logotype and Icon
Instead of forgetting about the past, we used it as a foundation for Hot Tamales' fresh, new look. We expanded upon both the old logotype and icon by updating their designs and adding certain elements that just felt right with the new brand.
User Journey to Ensure Maximum Awareness
We understand that some people don't know much about Hot Tamales and what they have to offer. Everyone can't know everything! That's why we came up with a plan to ensure maximum awareness through advertisements, social media, and inspiring influencers. Hot Tamales and their fresh new look are here to stay!
Add Some Warmth Campaign
We created this campaign to promote Hot Tamales' spicy candy. The purpose is to spark people's interests in spending time with friends and family by the fire, and to keep warm by sharing a box of Hot Tamales.
These ads are shown on electronic billboards, telling users that they can purchase the candy at just about any convenience store.
Hot Tamales Products
Candy is not the only thing that the brand sells with their name. We created candles, stickers, pins, and a ton of more products that are available on their website for purchase.
Hot Tamales Instagram Page
Hot Tamales' Instagram account was in need of a remodel, so we went in and spiced things up. We revamped the content as well as the overall aesthetic and look to the page.
SPICE: Hot Tamales x Fireball Event
Hot Tamales and Fireball are teaming up to host the boldest event of the summer at the Brooklyn Mirage called SPICE.
This event is invitation only, sent to influencers around the world. With live music, entertainment, and a ton of free goodies, the general public will be dying to tune in to this spicy event.

Creation of the SPICE Logotype and Icon
Since Hot Tamales and Fireball are teaming up, it only makes sense for their icons to do the same. By combining elements of our new icon with Fireball's current one, we created the icon for SPICE, along with a complimentary logotype in the Eurostile typeface.
Who's Invited?
We sent invitations out to influencers from all over the world to come and join Hot Tamales and Fireball for a hot and spicy night. They will also receive a wristband to wear on the evening of the event as their ticket of admission.
SPICE Ads
Even though the event is invite-only, we still want everyone to be a part of it. We created SPICE ads to encourage the public to join in on the live streamed event.
We are also excited to announce that Carl Cox and Fisher, along with many other guest stars, will be joining us on stage as performers of the night. These artist cards will be posted on social media by the celebrities to get fans excited for the live streamed event.
The Event
Don't miss out on the SPICE banners at the entrance of the Brooklyn Mirage! There will also be tons of things to take pictures with inside like our one-of-a-kind SPICE sculpture. We encourage influencers to share the experience with fans at home by uploading their photos to social media and using the hashtag #SPICE
This is a stage visual that will be played in the background of Carl Cox and Fisher's performance sets.
What's a better way to cool off from the heat than to sit by the SPICE fountain?
